The expected snow from a couple weeks ended up coming down almost entirely  asfreezing rain and sleet, so instead of our plants being buried in 6 inches of fluffy white they were glazed instead.

While we harvested everything we could before the storm, what was left suffered varying fates, with the remaining peas, beets, and turnips succumbing to the ice and cold and the cilantro, parsley, carrots, onions and a few others narrowly surviving. The verdict is still out for some of the garden, but with spring planting weeks away at the earliest we will let it be for now and see if we’re surprised by the resilience of anything that’s still out there.
