Winter storms are rare where we garden near Raleigh, North Carolina, sometimes we won’t get any winter weather at all and only a little bit of cold, but with a recent storm expected to bring lots of snow (for here anyways) followed by near-record cold we decided it was time to clear out all we could from the garden. While we could think of this as likely our last harvest from what we planted in the fall, it was also our first of the new year.

Soon enough we’ll be flipping through seed catalogs, planning our plot, and seed starting all over again.
